How I Support You

Comprehensive support for every stage of your journey

How I Work With You

I support you throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the fourth trimester with continuous, intuitive, and practical care. My role is to help you feel safe, seen, and empowered — not to impose, but to hold space so you can step fully into your own strength.

I am present, attuned, and committed to walking alongside you through this transformative journey.

01

During Pregnancy

During pregnancy, I work closely with you to prepare emotionally, physically, and practically for birth. My aim is to create a steady foundation so that you feel informed, supported, and confident as birth approaches.

  • Emotional support and a safe space surrounds you, allowing your hopes, fears, or past experiences to be shared. I am here to listen, reflect, and offer reassurance drawn from my own experience as a mother and doula.
  • Trust and connection grows naturally as I stay attentive and present, helping you feel steady, seen, and supported throughout each stage of pregnancy.
  • Clarity and understanding comes through gentle reflection, discussion, and mindfulness practices. Together we explore options and scenarios so that your choices feel clear and aligned with your instincts.
  • Supportive presence during appointments: I will attend visits with you to facilitate communication with your care providers, offering translation if necessary. My role is to help ensure your voice remains central and fully heard in all discussions.
  • Confidence in your birth preferences: Feeling empowered and prepared, you will develop confidence in your birth preferences as we collaborate to define a birth plan that truly reflects your values and what is most important to you.
  • Physical comfort and preparation is central to my work. Together we will explore gentle exercises, relaxation techniques, and optimal positioning so your body feels ready for labour, and I can support you in tuning into your body’s signals.
  • Support for your partner or family helps those close to you feel informed and confident, so together you can create a calm and protective birth space.
  • Strength and intuition is reflected back to you through my presence, helping you stay connected to your instincts, your voice, and the resilience you already carry.

During Labour & Birth

I remain by your side throughout labour, offering calm, steady, and intuitive support. This allows you to concentrate entirely on your body, your baby, and your instincts.

  • Continuous presence means I am by your side from the first waves of labour through birth, holding space and energy so you always feel supported and grounded.
  • Reading the birth space allows me to notice subtle dynamics, gently guiding awareness when pressure or coercion may appear and helping protect your sense of safety and autonomy.
  • Physical comfort and support includes movement, positioning, massage, counter-pressure, water, warmth, and breathing guidance, helping your body navigate each stage of labour while I remain present to support you fully.
  • Emotional grounding keeps you centred and reassured, with calm encouragement and gentle reminders that you can trust your instincts, even when labour feels intense.
  • Partner and family guidance helps those with you feel empowered and confident, so they can support you while the birth space remains calm and connected.
  • Translation and communication allows me to clarify what is happening and support your voice, helping you communicate clearly with care providers.
  • Reflecting your power back to you reminds you of your strength and instincts, keeping your choices and voice at the heart of the birth experience.

03

In the Fourth Trimester (Postpartum)

My commitment is to provide holistic and individualized postpartum support, ensuring both your recovery and your baby's thriving start. This care typically involves a series of scheduled home visits in the initial days and weeks, followed by office visits as needed.

My goal is to be a consistent resource and advocate during this transformative phase, helping you navigate the beautiful challenges of the fourth trimester with confidence, clarity, and continuous, compassionate support.

  • Feeding and newborn guidance within the scope of my role as your doula, helping you find your rhythm with your baby. While I don't offer clinical support during this postpartum phase, I will ensure you are safely referred to a trusted care team.
  • Comfort measures for recovery promote rest, healing, and physical comfort to support postpartum recovery.
  • Attending appointments with you and your baby if helpful, ensuring you feel supported and informed.
  • Light household support so you can focus on rest, recovery, and bonding with your baby.
  • Emotional support and space to reflect on your birth story and early days of motherhood.
  • Gentle awareness of physical or emotional concerns, helping guide you toward appropriate care if needed.
  • Honouring matrescence supports you through the natural identity shift and learning curve that comes with becoming a mother.
  • A steady and compassionate presence ensures you feel seen, supported, and cared for during this sensitive period.

Breech, Caesarean Birth and VBAC Support

Breech, Caesarean Birth and VBAC Support

Every birth story unfolds in its own way. Sometimes babies settle into a breech position, sometimes families are preparing for a planned caesarean birth, and sometimes parents are hoping for a VBAC after a previous surgery. These moments can bring new questions, new decisions, and a need for steady, thoughtful support.

  • Planned caesarean birth preparation allows us to explore the process together so that you feel calm, informed, and confident as you approach birth.
  • Support for Breech Birth offers a dedicated space to explore various options, prepare both your body and birth environment, and cultivate confidence in the decisions you make.
  • VBAC support provides a space for reflecting on previous births, validating your experience, and building self-trust, clarity, and confidence as you prepare for this birth.
  • Flexible support when plans change ensures that you have emotional and practical guidance if birth unfolds differently than expected.
  • Communication and advocacy involves protecting your voice and holding space for you to clearly understand your options and express your wishes.
  • Birth preferences planning assists in creating a strategy that aligns with your core values and instincts, particularly when giving birth in a hospital or medical environment.
  • Consistent presence and grounding ensures you are supported, informed, and centered throughout the experience of welcoming your baby.
  • Support for Post-Surgical Birth Recovery provides gentle, hands-on help to aid your recovery, encourage rest, and facilitate bonding with your baby, while I manage the daily household tasks and routines.
