About Me

About Me

Mother. Doula.
A safe presence.

The Beginning

My story begins in Wales

A decade ago, I became a mother. That moment changed the direction of my life, stretching me across countries and cultures and eventually guiding me toward the work I now hold so close to my heart.

But my story begins long before that.

My identity is deeply shaped by Wales, the place of my birth in 1985. Growing up in a small, close-knit village meant growing up surrounded by nature and strong community ties. Life moved with a natural rhythm, and care for one another was simply part of everyday life. Women, mothers & grandmothers, quietly held the heart of that community. It was an environment that nurtured a deep trust in intuition, in the wisdom of the body, and in the quiet strength women carry, values that continue to guide the way I support mothers today.

In that same spirit of community, birth was once deeply woven into village life. It was a shared and intimate event, supported by the steady presence of women who understood the rhythms of birth. Babies were commonly born at home in Wales, my own father was born within the familiar walls of his family house. Birth unfolded within the heart of the home, surrounded by the quiet reassurance of women who had witnessed birth many times before. This understanding of birth as something natural, supported, and deeply human continues to shape the way I hold space for families today.

What Shaped Me

Three unfolding birth stories

I am a mother to three spirited, thoughtful, and completely unique daughters, Ella, Elise, and Effie. Each of them came into the world in their own way, and each birth shaped me differently. Motherhood, for me, is not a single story but three unfolding birth stories that continue to shape me.

My personal birth experiences in two different countries have given me insight into the range of emotions and challenges that can arise in the birth space. In my first birth, I encountered the subtle pressures that sometimes appear, moments when my voice felt hushed and my instincts clouded. It was a challenging, formative experience that deepened my understanding of what it feels like to navigate birth fully present. When I gave birth in Germany, I carried those lessons with me. I learned to trust my body, find my voice, and embrace both the light and shadow of birth, the intensity, the joy, and everything in between.

Living in Germany introduced me to the tradition of the Wochenbett, a deeply respectful period of care where mothers are nourished and supported during the gentle weeks following birth. Experiencing this culture of postpartum care left a lasting impression on me. It reminded me that every birth story deserves care, that mothers themselves deserve to be held with the same attention and tenderness they give to their newborns.

A New Chapter

A deeper understanding of what matters

Raising my family here in Germany meant navigating pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood far from the familiar world of my Welsh childhood. Over the past decade, this experience has stretched me in many ways and strengthened my intuition, mindfulness, and practical understanding of what women and families truly need during this time.

Today, I bring that lived experience as a mother, as someone who has given birth in different cultures, and as a trained doula into every birth story I am invited to witness.

Supporting women and families during pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood is work I hold with deep care and respect. Birth is a powerful and vulnerable threshold. The moment a baby is born and a mother is born alongside them. I believe every woman deserves to feel safe in that space: safe in her body, safe in her voice, and supported in the choices she makes for herself and her baby. Every birth story deserves that steady presence and gentle guidance.

Philosophy

My Craft

I trained with Nurturing Birth in London, away from home and family, immersing myself fully in the art and practice of doula care. The training revealed the richness and depth of this work, how a doula can protect space, read the room, validate experiences, and provide unwavering presence.

The training demanded deep reflective work. It brought up feelings of sadness that I hadn’t had the support of a doula at my own births, or the opportunity to birth at home in full trust of my instincts. Through that process, I came to accept my own births, understanding that they unfolded as they were meant to and that I had navigated them with the strength I had in the moment.

Working alongside women from diverse backgrounds reinforced the truth that every birth is shaped by a mother’s body, her story, and her instincts.

Since then, I have continued to refine my practice through mentorship, ongoing research, and hands-on work in my community in Potsdam, Germany. My work is born from intuition, experience, and deep care. A devotion shaped over more than a decade of motherhood and wholehearted support for women.
